Aero.Academy

Learn PPL(A) theory efficiently – with AI that knows your weak spots

An adaptive question bank, honest explanations and a study plan that adapts to you. For the LBA theory exam in Germany.

What you get here

Aero.Academy is an online learning platform for the PPL(A) theory exam in Germany. We cover all nine LBA subjects – from air law through meteorology and navigation to human performance. Instead of clicking through thousands of questions shotgun-style, the platform builds a model of your knowledge and suggests exactly the topics you should be working on right now.

You get:

  • The complete ECQB-oriented question catalogue
  • Explanations for every question, not just the correct answer
  • Cross-country exercises with real ICAO charts
  • Progress per subject, so you know when you're exam-ready

We don't replace a flight school. You still need an ATO or DTO for the practical side and the official exam registration. But you can prepare the theory with us – at your own pace, even between two shifts.

How it works

1. Placement. You take a short diagnostic test per subject. The system gauges where you stand – whether you're a complete beginner or already know half the theory because you fly gliders (SPL).

2. Adaptive training. The AI picks questions that make sense for you right now: not too easy, not too hard, focused on your gaps. Wrongly answered questions come back at spaced-repetition intervals until they really stick.

3. Exam mode. Once your progress is stable at around 85%, you simulate the LBA exam under real conditions – time limit, subject distribution, no aids. If you pass these tests, you usually pass the real exam too.

Why AI genuinely makes a difference here

“AI” is being slapped on everything right now. With us it has two concrete jobs:

Adaptive selection. Classic question trainers show you questions randomly or in a fixed order. That's inefficient when you only have 20 hours left. Our model prioritises questions by difficulty, your error history and the time since the last review.

Plain-language explanations. If you don't understand why the answer to a VOR problem is “235°”, you can ask. You get a step-by-step explanation – with a sketch if needed. No forum hearsay, no contradictory answers.

What AI does not do with us: it doesn't replace the flight instructor, it doesn't invent rules, and we don't let it loose on exam-relevant content unchecked. The question bank is curated by pilots and instructors.

Price

We keep it simple:

  • Free – diagnostic test, access to two subjects, ideal for a first look.
  • Full Access – €19 per month, cancel monthly. All subjects, all features, exam simulation.
  • PPL Complete – €149 once for 12 months. Worth it if you'll need a year anyway.

No hidden add-on purchases, no “premium questions”. If after 14 days you decide it's not for you, you get your money back.

What users say

“Four weeks before the exam I panicked because meteorology wasn't sticking. The adaptive system put me specifically on high/low pressure and fronts until I understood it. Passed with 92%.” — Jana, PPL(A) candidate, Egelsbach airfield

“I've flown gliders for years and wanted to add the powered licence. Aero.Academy recognised that I already knew air law and met, and served me mostly technology and AGK. Saves time.” — Markus, SPL→PPL

“The explanations are what's missing from other trainers. You finally understand why an answer is right – not just that it is.” — Theresa, working student & flight student
